THE MATRICE ("we", "our", or "us") operates the THE MATRICE browser extension. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
01
Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:
- Email address — when you create an account or sign in with Google, we store your email to identify your account.
- Favourite brands — the list of brands you star inside the extension is saved to our database so it syncs across devices.
- Brand names from retailer pages — when you browse a supported retailer, brand names visible on the listing are sent to our server to keep our brand database up to date. No personal data is included.
We do not collect browsing history, product views, purchase behaviour, or any information beyond what is listed above.
02
How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To sync your favourite brands across browser sessions.
- To generate personalised brand recommendations based on your saved brands.
- To maintain and improve the brand database that powers the extension.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
03
Google Sign-In
If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your email address and name from Google's OAuth service. We do not receive or store your Google password. Your use of Google Sign-In is also subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
04
Data Storage
Your account data is stored on Supabase, a managed PostgreSQL database hosted in the EU (eu-north-1). Data is encrypted at rest and in transit.
A small amount of data (your authentication token and favourite brands list) is also stored locally in your browser via the Chrome extension storage API. This data never leaves your device unless you are signed in.
05
Data Retention
Your account and associated data are retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.
06
Your Rights
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your account and data.
- Withdraw consent at any time by uninstalling the extension.
07
Children's Privacy
THE MATRICE is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
08
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
